European Union member states and the European Parliament reached an agreement on the 7th on the legal text of the EU’s unified charger specifications for the sale of smartphones and tablets. This bill will require most portable devices to use the USB Type C charging specification. The relevant regulations will be 2024. Effective in the fall.
